Strange Pillows an exhibition by Wolfie Mayr

Opening night

Photographic works by Wolfie Mayr

Strange pillows (inspired by the lyrics of Joni Mitchell’s
song “Amelia”: “..slept on strange pillows of my
wonderlust”)

is a selection of analogue photography shot on reverse film
material spanning a period from 1974 to 1999. As the title
suggests, travelling experiences were the main source
of inspiration. The photographs span a period of these
travels, from France 1974 – represented in a series of
pictures which put on “mould” over the years – to the PR
of China in 1986, Portugal, the USA in the nineties, and
impressions of Austria which Wolfie called home before
moving to Australia in 2003.

All photographs are available in limited edition of 3 prints.
Printing: PrismImaging, North Melbourne, Kodak Lustre
Paper
